USA 1985 American Horses Plate Block of 4 Postage Stamps, MNH
This plate block of four 22-cent stamps featuring American horses was issued September 25, 1985, in Lexington, Kentucky. The dedication ceremony was held in the Parade of Breeds Barn at the Kentucky Horse Park. Often called "The Showplace of the Bluegrass," the state-operated Kentucky Horse Park featured more than thirty different breeds and types of horses, mules, and donkeys, as well as many unique exhibits. The four breeds depicted on the stamps were represented in the park and featured in the First Day of Issue ceremony.
The designs depict the Saddlebred, Morgan, Appaloosa, and Quarter horse.
